How to center content or make fixed-with sheet

Ask a Question

I apologize, from what I can tell I posted the other question private. So please ignore the duplicate post if I am wrong.

I am trying to recreate the joomla design I originally made years ago in Artisteer (www.scifivision.com). What I need to be able to do really is to change the page width/style sheet size, because I want a fixed size for the center part. I can't find these options. I'm wondering if for what I want to change I need Themler instead?

Anyway, if I could center each element, I could work around it, by basically making a container that is 1348px wide (this is where I have the raven background) centered, and then within that would be the main part of the page which is 1000px wide (the header of the girl and the CMS content under it). So it's like a box within a box. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right.

The problem is, I can't figure out how to make the the container or a grid centered. I can get the background inside that at a fixed sized, but the program asks is how many pixels from each side rather than giving me a center option like Artisteer always did. I think also the moutside background image is apparently wider than the program wants it to be. I was able to stretch it to move it outside of the margins, but it won't let me stretch it big enough. Basically this is what I want in size:

mysite

I really don't care so much about the page glare thing (the swirls) if this program can't do that. I just particularly want the elements to be able to be centered and the content aligned underneath the center portion where the header is.

I can get closer in themler, which is why I'm wondering if that is the program that I actually need, but it's still not centered. Nicepage is giving a screwed up layout where nothing lines up like it does in the program.

I hope someone can help me, all I've gotten are canned answers from support.

I am using the desktop version of Nicepage

Jamie,

I think it would be not so easy to reproduce this theme in Nicepage.
But answering your question I suggest that you try the following left, right and center magnets:

sheet-magnets.png

This will help you to center the image on all screens.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Is there a tutorial on magnets? Is themler better for this kind of design? Thanks

Hi Jamie,

In the latest update we have added an option to set the image as a page background, you can find it under the Page tab in the right panel. And also please watch the video from this article:
https://nicepage.com/doc/article/1316/

Starting from 6 minute you will see a bit about magnets and grid.
