Ask a Question

I have blockquote formatted in the template as italics. This is fine, but using blockquote in a post/page, I can't then apply, say, bold to selected words for emphasis.

Is there any way to do this or can this be added to the wish list?

Hi Alan,

Highlight the desired part of the text in the blockquote and press the B sing in the context menu to apply the bold style to it.

Thanks, Hella, but that doesn't work. I have styled the blockquote in the Nicepage desktop and used the theme on a website. It is not a Nicepage post but uses the WordPress Classic editor so the post appears on the Post template.

If I add, say, Bold to part of the text that is in a blockquote, the bold text doesn't appear when I update the post.

So, if I enter this in the post editor - see first screenshot...

I get this in preview - see second screenshot.

In the preview, the bold text isn't bold but italic reverts to Roman.

A workaround may be to not have the blockquote text styled as italics in the template but I've not tried that.

Any thoughts?

Hi Alan,

I think that you can try to leave the blockquote style in the template as simple as possible and then style the quote in the post using your WP editor, then you should not have conflicts in the styles. Let me know if that works for you.
