Ask a Question

I have an iMac and a Macbook pro laptop. Most of my work is done on the iMac but I'd like the opportunity to be able to access the project files on my laptop without having to export & import projects.
I cannot use the same folder on a shared drive since nicepage won't allow it - says the folder isnt empty when trying to select the folder in the preferences.
The ability to be able to share the projects would be ideal. I've no intention to have both PCs opening nicepage projects at the same time. I understand that would mess things up.
An alternative would be able to use the web-based app to export to HTML but that's not an option either.

Adrian,

It is not realized the way you have described. For now, exporting and importing a project is the only option.

Thank you!

I have the same situation working with different machines during the day or on the weekend / evening.

If an urgent todo comes in, I have to shutdown the one pc and starting the other, exporting, shutdown, starting the first pc and importing the project so far it is not already available, Which is the last version of both ...?
If I am not in my office or on holidays, I have not chance to use the file from my private cloud if it is not exported.

I need the possibility to set same path on 2 machines, too !

Yeah this feature i am missing since years too! The biggest fail is:
Nicepage checks if a working folder is already filled and does not let you save this setting.

If that alone would work then you could easily build a solution yourself with a sync program. But so you deny us to do something ourselves.

Please fix this issue urgently! It just does not make fun so.

I keep my project on a shared folder in my personal LAN, but only one of my computer's, my main desktop, is able to use that folder as the "home" or "Project Folder." I want to be able to open Nicepage on my laptop, living room, etc., computer and edit the same project in the same project folder.

I have a work laptop, a home PC that doubles as a server, a couple desktops around the house (including my main one). It's terribly inconvenient to have to go sit in front of that one specific desktop to edit the project...particularly when I'm able to place the project folder on a shared LAN resource that I can even remote VPN into from work with my laptop.

I would like to add my vote to this as well. It surprised me that Nicepage was not able to access a shared network folder.

Hello,

Thanks for the suggestion and your vote. But in the Preferences you can select your shared/remote Project Folder and Backup Folder so your projects will be available from other PC.
Please note, that the Nicepage licenses are for personal use only.

OKAY. But how are we going to open a project on another computer, even if we're on the same network and the other computer is set to the same path on the other computer?
On the left side of the program, in the place where the websites are displayed, the thumbnail of the website design from the other computer will not be shown (even if the correct access path is indicated).
The problem is that you can only import a previously packed project to Nicepage, and not open it normally, as in all other programs: graphic, text or even for creating websites, eg WYSIWYG Web Builder, Sparkle, or even Muse, which does not already exist.

I would like to be able to open a project, not import.
It makes a big difference.

Nicepage team.
Can you do this to open the page design normally and not import it?
It would make working with this program much easier.

There is a work around:

  1. Install nicepage on second computer
  2. Create temporary directory
  3. Copy all files from original used directory off first installed nicepage programm to new temporary directory
  4. To use one and the same directory for 2 nicepage programms do now:
  5. Remove all files from original directory
  6. Change to originall directory in preferences in new added nicepage
  7. Close nicepage on both computers
  8. Copy back all files back from temporary created directory to original directory
  9. You can use both nicepage programms on both computers in same directory

be carefull not using both nicepage programms in the same time, bevause last saved will be overwrite the original file
