Ask a Question

My first site I did has wrong html. After exporting I have to delete the index.html, copy the home.html and then rename the copied home.html to index.html. This works so not a big deal unless I forget and upload the site.

I thought maybe I did something wrong in the first site. My second site was correct then after adding pages the same thing happened. Can't seem to fix it in nicepage . Why would the index.html and the home.html, not be the same page?

Just wanted to alert you to the problem.

Hi Lori,

Please check that the correct page is set as the Home page under the Website >> Settings. I cannot reproduce the issue on my end.

I have just the same issue with all the website demos I´ve created. I´ve checked that the "Inicio" page (Home page in spanish) were marked as "the home page of the project" but when exported to HTML, Nicepage always export the "Inicio.html" page and a "Index.html" page... wich causes some problems when visiting the website and the "Inicio" button in main navegation menu.

Oh, and other problem (maybe) is that in the main navegation menu names should appear with Capital Initials, for example: Home, About Us, Products, Gallery, Contact.

But when pages exported as HTML, their names should be all Small Letters, like: home.html, about-us.html, products.html, gallery.html, contact.html but they go out out with Capital Initials too, like: Home.html, About-Us.html, Products.html, Gallery.html, Contact.html

Hope you can fix that or tell us what mistake are we making. Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Nicepage always export the "Inicio.html" page and a "Index.html" page

That is the correct behavior, the site needs to include both files as some servers require the index.html page as the main page of the site to load it for the first time.

but they go out out with Capital Initials too

The link is created automatically from the page name. You can open the menu item settings and rewrite the link name with the small letter. But I'm sure that the capital letters are not causing any problems.
