Ask a Question

Hi,
I am having a hard time getting my head around the concept of pages, posts, blogs and their themes.
This is about a plain HTML site I want to build.
So I have configured a post template and a blog template, but I have no idea as to how to create a blog/use the blog template or where the post template is used/where & how I create a post.
I realized that when I opt to create a new "empty" page it isn't empty at all, but uses some of the content that is found in the posts template. How do I create a template for pages?
Basically, what I am trying to do is a simple media presentation site, where every page looks the same: On the left, a sidebar with the media titles in sections like graphics, video, audio, in the main content section the media title up top, below that a description, and below that a media player.
How can I have a template of the above layout, so I would only have to change the title, description and the media, and have the new item listed in the sidebar on the left?
I'd really appreciate if you could enlighten me about the concepts in question and give me a pointer as to how I should go about the task.

Best regards,
Ingo

Hi Ingo,

The Post and Blog Templates are for CMS export only.
Unfortunately, Nicepage does not provide templates for HTML export, and there is no option to create a template for pages.
I suggest that you start building the pages with the Grid control to create the layout similar to the "content+sidebar". Please note that you can copy the blocks between pages. This should help to create the same layout on all pages.
Header and Footer are the same on all pages.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi Olivia,

Okay, thanks. So no blog or any form of CMS for HTML5 with Nicepage, I take it.

Meanwhile, I have a major issue with the video player. I'll open a new ticket for that.

Best,
Ingo
