Ask a Question

In some of my embedded youtube videos, I see an overlay title in the freeze-frame, which is the title of the video in my YouTube channel (see attached file: "Folge 4: Sanierung des Dachs..."). This is, however, not always the case. I could not find any setting in the video dashboard to control this.
Can you helt to get rid of it?

Thanks

Bernd

Hi,

The video title is not displayed when the video is used as video background.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I just don't know how to safely achieve this. When I click on the 4 spreading arrows in the right upper corner (expand to background), the heading is still there, in some cases it isn't but I don't know how a got this done.

Hi,

Do you see the video title in the browser preview when the vide is stretched to the video background?
Please note that in the case of the Youtube video Nicepage does not have much control on the video and its attributes. It is displayed in iframe where we cannot change anything. Nicepage simply adds video wrapper and a few iframe attributes (loop, autoplay, poster, etc).

The overlay title appears in the browser preview as well. I have dropped my project at

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tw85lv3n6jkpxkl/IEI_neu.zip?dl=0

On the landing page, I have a video with this effect, also on the second page. On the third page and a few others, this effect does not occur.
Maybe you understand the difference when looking at these examples.
Thanks
Bernd

Could you have a look into my project at
https://www.dropbox.com/s/tw85lv3n6jkpxkl/IEI_neu.zip?dl=0
to find out why in some cases the youtube title is overlaid on the webpage and sometimes it is not? I'm close to finalizing the website.

Thanks

Bernd

Dr. Bernd,

We have assign this issue to the development, once we have the solution. we will get back to you. For now you can try using the poster, however, or upload the video to your server.

Thank you!

Let me repeat my problem if I was not clear before: on my website, I embed youtube videos. In some cases, the title of the youtube video is overlaid on the still image of the video, which I don't want, in other cases you see only the still image. In both cases,
(https://www.dropbox.com/s/ev9qjlxd8tcu5w1/Energiesparende-Massnahmen.html?dl=0) (https://www.dropbox.com/s/qxgal3ag5mdl5tr/Energiesparende-Massnahmen.css?dl=0) and (https://www.dropbox.com/s/qz7kvc0poq02f0p/Startseite.html?dl=), (https://www.dropbox.com/s/bt5n2iu7bd5oin8/Startseite.css?dl=0) the embedding code is exactly the same, apart from the youtube link. In the first example, the overlay title is shown, in the second it isn't.
Any idea what the problem could be?

Coming back to the overlay title problem: I have redone all video blocks, now the overlay title appears on each video, both in the nicepage and the browser view (see attached screenshot from Safari). It just doesn't look nice.

I would really appreciate a hint on how to get rid of this.

I've posed the question in the Youtube community as well but didn't receive a response yet.

Thank you

Bernd

I spent a lot of time finding ways to solve my problem setting the right parameters in the youtube embed. What I learned is that the showinfo parameter, which did that before, is deprecated since 2018 and there is no replacement.
My question now is whether it is possible to place the start frame of the video on top of the video and still have access to the play button?

I may have expressed my problem incomprehensibly. I just noticed that you already have a solution to my last point and to the problem I raised, in general, by means of posters.

If I would have understood this parameter before, I could have saved time. Is there a documentation of all the concepts, features, and parameters I don't know of?

Thank you

Bernd

Bernd,

We are still working on the documentation, adding descriptions for Elements and Features. However, we do not have all features covered yet, unfortunately.
