Ask a Question

Hi, I have a Joomla position and a module which I am putting in that position. However, there is a weird behavior if I put text into the module which has a numeral preceded by a dollar sign.

If I put "$9.50" in it shows as ".50" - incorrect when no space after the dollar sign
If I put "$ 9.50" in it shows as "$ 9.50" - correct with the space

Why is that? Can I do anything to fix it?

thanks

Hi,

Nicepage does not control the output of the Joomla modules. Does the same issue happen with the protostar theme?

Indeed, you are correct. Same on Protostar.

It appears to be a PHP problem to do with the $ sign (possibly a deprecated function?) No issue, I'll just continue to put the space in.

FYI and any other users, I'm using Hikashop in module positions within Nicepage pages and these have the same issue. Fortunately Hikashop settings for $ currencies have a toggle called "Symbol and positive value space separation". Set this to yes and the problem is solved for ecommerce too.

All good :)

Thanks Olivia.

Hi Julie,

You are welcome, please let us know if you have any other questions. And BTW, you can try to use the code value for the dollar sign.
