Review of Nicepage

I am a website design lecturer at a University. In the past, I have steered by students towards Artisteer for its ease at making templated designs with ease.
Now I am promoting Nicepage as a way of getting University students and others into designing creatively using the templates and stock pictures and other features such as parallax scrolling. We create Nicepage to HTML only.
The students are able to produce exciting and great looking websites in hours or minutes, rather than days - and what can't be done in Nicepage then they have to code away.
The features that attract are the ability to collect the images together and create a template easily - making basuic websites becomes very easy and many of the students see a quick way to make lots of money.
The harder parts for the students to do are working on some of the backend processes, Ajax, php forms all working with the same design templates to make interactive sites
Largely to this end I need a powerful and in depth and unbiased review of nicepage in the form of a video. I will be creating this soon.
I want from some ideas from other users who are not students:
What features do you find essential?
What do you find difficult?

We have not heard from Philip yet and I wonder if it will come ...
With Nicepage you can indeed quickly create HTML based websites in no time.
But if you want to work with Joomla extensions and plugins you have a big problem because it does not work at all.
That is also because with a Nicepage template you no longer have access to the standard Joomla page interface.
For an interactive website where you can use all tools, nicepage is not suitable

Hi Peter,

What exactly you cannot do in Joomla. Nicepage Joomla plug-in allows you to edit the pages and add all the available controls and also Joomla module positions to display the Joomla modules.
We would be glad to hear what options you are missing to see what we ca do about that.

Hello Hella,

I would like to give you some examples;

First of all I use (together with a lot of Joomla Users) Chronoforms contact form.
To do this, you have to install the chronoforms module/component and than create a new menu item in Joomla; you have to choose the chronoforms menu item type. This is also possible next to Nicepage but the disadvantage is that you do not have the possibility to make a custom module in which you can place a picture to fill up the page (you do not have a template with positions ...).

Another example is Simple Image gallery Pro that allows you to easily place photos on any page; you have to enter a code for that, for example {gallery}nicepage-images{/gallery}
Under Joomla articles there is normally a menu bar below the article (see image). It contains an IGP button after installing Image Gallery Pro. This bar is removed in the Nicepage articles. you can still use the code in the articles but then you have to find the path of the photos yourself. Many website owners will not like this.

These problems have never occurred with Artisteer.

Kind regards, Peter

Hi Peter,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Regarding the Chronoforms, if you need to insert them into some module position, you can create such position in the Post template in the Nicepage template and then the module position should be available in the pages of your site. This template will be used for the pages that are not created with Nicepage and are not Blog pages.

The gallery. I'm not sure that we could integrate other plug-ins into our editor. Probably you could create a new gallery on the extension's page and then only use a shortcode in the article. That is how a lot of the gallery extensions work. BTW, we might be creating our own gallery control in the future, this is in our wishlist.

You say that these problems haven't occurred with Artisteer. Of course not, as Artisteer was not a live-page editor. It had no possibility to work with the live content of the site in a real-time.

Hi Hella, thanks for your reply!

I have difficulty with the fact that Nicepage requires a huge investment in time and energy.
Most instruction films go too fast for me and I also have the feeling that many important steps are not shown.
I have to tell you that I have decided to stick with Artisteer for the time being or to choose basic templates and to park Nicepage for a while.
Wish you good luck with the further development!

kind regards, Peter

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your comments. It's a pity to hear that Nicepage does not suit your needs. But if you need more instructions, we can provide them with the Skype demonstration. I assume that it could help you to understand some basic things faster. Just submit the demo here in any time that is convenient for you:

NICEPAGE IS THE BEST PAGEBUILDER NEVER SEEN

I WOULD ONLY SAY THANK YOU!

Of course as pointed out p.lieberwirth, some things that are usually integrated into the joomla editor with code {} do not work WELL, but WE can not certainly have everything.

I tried all the page builders for joomla, and also many for wordpress, this is the best and there is an abyss with others, not only because nicepage has thousands of styles ready, but because it is simple and quick to use, a drag and drop fantastic .
Try to create a REAL nice page with the joomla editor, or with other editors or pagebuilders, then we'll talk about it.

If my client has to create a gallery with simple image gallery, which I also use and I find it fantastic, I do it in a normal joomla page without nicepage, I explain that nicepage is a fantastic tool but it can not do everything, and that maybe it will do it in future but it is not sure.
I tell my client that he has to be happy, because doing what nicepage do by hand, with the code would cost him a fortune.

Please friend take the money and invest it on this project, so that the development team can improve it more and more.

If there is something it can not do, it will do it tomorrow

I have an artisteer license renewed from the begin, also a themler licence and the nicepage ultimate.

I often wonder how much I would have worked harder, and how much I would have been less productive without these fantastic tools

this is my review

Hi Giuseppe,

Thank you so much for such feedback! It is really pleasant for us to receive such reviews. We are doing our best and we have a lot of plans to integrate more functionality and improve Nicepage further. Our developers are working now on the mega menu and animations. Follow the news for the updates!

Well, nicepage has many nice tools, but I agree with p.lieberwirth. I´m working with nicepage since 10 months and I still have so many problems and bugs with nicepage. I made a frist website with nicepage. This took about 120 hours. That´s really too much and too expensive for my customers. All other pages I made in teh past took about 30 hours. Also watching all videos I´m still confused. Other pagebuilders don´t took so much effort for understanding and they don´t have as much bugs as nicepage. Actual it´s not possible to save any changes ....

Get real feller. When did you ever find a business which would be happy with stock photos in stencils where the photos would end up on competitors websites and theyd all have the same photo. They wont accept that. And outside of simple templates. Nice pagfe is a time consuming desaster. Nothing works and its saves file upon file filling up all your folders with god knows what. Its rubbish
