Ask a Question

Hello guys,
I developed some custom components and modules, and I would like to know if I can integrate nicely in a nicepage joomla website.
Normally I would publish the component in a specific position, but with nicepage I have no idea if I can do it.
Another question would be if I can publish my own menus and my own content in such nice nicepage pages.
I hope so.
Thank you for your work you made a great program.

Thank you both, for your time and for your explanations.
I'm at such level of confusion that I can't nearly say what I didn't understood without asking dumb questions :-(
Ok, basically to me seems wrong to build a template using nice page. Just because of design/developing principle, this program is good for build article content, not for build templates. I'm right ?
Just seems to me too strange because artisteer (old old version) seems instead good to that, and in my mind nice page is the evolution.
I'm missing something ?
It's a good idea to direct toward a Joomlart solution instead to use a nice page solution for build a template ?
There's a simple article (medium?) somewhere that can help me to avoid to waste your time with newbe question ?
Thank you guys anyway.
Gianfranco

Hi!

The thing to remember when using Nicepage and Joomla together is there are 2 components. 1. is the template which is basically the header, background colors and fonts. 2 is the pages themselves. Keep in mind that Nicepage pages live inside a Joomla article. So when you import the pages into Joomla, they will create new articles. If you are like me, and go through several iterations, then you will end up importing several pages.

Menus are the same thing. I personally do not import the Nicepage menus into Joomla because I like to use my own. So when you want to set up the home page, select the article that Nicepage created.

You can add module positions anywhere you want in a page that you create with nicepage! Under Element > Position and Shortcode > Position & Sidebar.

Nicepage-pos.png

Then select the position and give it a name:

Nicepage-pos2.png

In the module, enter your position name and it will show up!

Hope that helps!

Nicepage is a page designer, it doesn't have a CMS backend. So this isn't a nicepage problem. However what you want to do can be done using Regular Lab's "Component Anywhere" and "Modules Anywhere" extensions. You'll set them up in the joomla backend and use the appropriate shortcode in Nicepage's "shortcode" option. When you then export the template / pages it'll call the correct component / module. Done this myself

As to the menu's, why wouldn't you be able to? In fact the main horizontal menu you create in nicepage becomes the default hmenu menu / module in joomla.
