Ask a Question

I want to password protect a page created with nicepage of wordpress plugin.
This is the same meaning as the function of "Edit> Status and release status> Password protection" that can be done by posting in Wordpress.

There were a log that was fixed in last year's update concerned this, but I would like to check the latest information below.

(1) Does "Edit with Nicepage" have a password protection function? If so, where does it?

(2) If "Edit with Nicepage" does not have a password protection function, if I set password protection in Wordpress "Edit", able to get the password protection work the side of a nicepage?

(3) In the nicepage of Wordpress plug-in, what functions are linked between "Edit" and "Edit with Nicepage" of Wordpress?

Hi,

As far as I know, the WP "Password Protected" option is to protect the front-end page view. It has no relation to starting a Nicepage editor. "Edit with Nicepage" option launches the editor on the admin panel side. The editor can be used if you have a Nicepage license or client license.
Exactly what functionality you need?

Hello.

Does your answer mean that you can't do it all?

My hope is that Nicepage can only be opened by someone who knows the password.
Is it not possible with the current function?

Atsuko

Hi Atsuko,

The WP "Password protect" feature is for website front-end. It has no relation to CMS backend and Nicepage editor. So, at some point, yes, this option cannot help.
The option to start Nicepage is available for admin and editor roles. Unfortunately, there is no way to make it password protected.
But you can try "Author" role. it has no access to pages and Nicepage.

Hello Support.

The role including "Author" that I heard here is a function of Wordpress, and it cannot be used in Nicepage, right?

So I can't understand why you mentioned "Author".

Does Nicepage have nothing similar to "password protection"?

Atsuko

If you add a user in wordpress as an Author, then they won't be able to edit or access nicepage on wp. Only "Admin or Editor" users will have access to nicepage and edit the pages. Hope it helps. :)

Oh, Oh! That's important.

WP Author means "cannot access" to nicepage, which means "cannot read only" on nicepage?

I will test it. Many people are happy that the role of WP has a permission table on nicepage.

Thank you Support.

Hi,

There is no such special functionality. Try to use some code from the internet. The additional code can be included under the Site Settings >> HTML >> Additional Head HTML.

Hello!

I tried it with "WP Author" and realized that it didn't work.

I am not the person who writes the code,

so please consider the password function in the future.
Thank you.
