Ask a Question

Ok banging my head against the wall now......

I have a nicepage theme which has some content. Activate NP theme and import the content. Problem - when I load the NP pages - it totally wipes over the exiting old menu.
So I have gone bavk to my existing artisteer theme and tried to just use the nicepage content - but it still use's its own menu rather than the menu I have specified.

I love nicepage in terms of the way it can look - but as far as wordpress is concerned and mixing content / menus - it sucks.

Anyone else had problems like this ?

Hi,

The imported theme with the content activates the menu created in Nicepage. You can edit that menu under the WP >> Appearance >> Menus settings. There you can mix the menu items adding your old site content into the new menu.

Ok I get that - what if I forgot a menu item,, can I then add it in from the wordpress dashboard ?

Basically what I have done - is create a theme in Nicepage - and created content in NP desktop app (as it was easier for me to do that). So what I wanted to do was then install the theme, import the NP content - but then continue to use the menu's I alkready add in wordpress.

Are you saying this is not possible ?

Should I just create a 1 page theme in the desktop app - then install the theme and create the content in wordpress using NP ?

Hi,

No, you can create the whole theme and content in the desktop application as you want. Then after you install it on the site, the menu that you have created in the application is automatically activated. But you can easily edit the menu items on the live site within the WP >> Appearance >> Menus settings, just choose the active menu (imported from Nicepage) for editing and add/remove the desired menu items in it. You can even select the different menu as the primary navigation if you want to use the old menu you had on the site.

I think my wordpress install is somehow corrupted. I will install WP on a sub directory and play with it there instead
