Ask a Question

I can't get the jooma theme I made to work.
I have made the theme with Nice Desktop version, I exported the theme in a zip file. I installed the theme on my Joomla website... The only things that I see are the Header and the menu. No images... no module's postions!!!
I created the module positions, but I haven't in the position'sm mnenu. It is like they doesnt' exist!
The content... how can I customize? I want the articles in two coloumns, but in the desktop app I don't find anything to do it. I don't find where the joomla content are postioned!
I'm really frustrated, Nice is not usable ... I threw my money away!

did you install the content editor plugin too after installing the theme?
did you import the content (images, text...) after installing the theme
custom positions (in content pages) do NOT show up under joomla's module manager, just enter the appropriate module position name and hit enter. It'll get used.

Only positions in the theme (header & footer) show up in the module manager.

2 colums? Enable the sidebar on the blog & post templates.

1 & 2 work fine for me.

As for nr 3, then you'll need to add a grid with 2 columns but it is possible

Hi!
In the Joomla Article manager, check to make sure that the article imported. Usually you will see Home, Home(2) or Page, Page(2)... depending on how many times you imported the content. Make a note of the Article name that you want to appear on the home page.

In the Modules, make sure that the main menu is in the correct position: hmenu

Then in your Menu, Select the Home, then instead of using the featured articles, select the Article that you wish to present as your Home page. If you use NP to create the menus, things can get more confusing because the names are not well defined and you end up having to redefine the menus.

Keep in mind that the NP template consists of the header, footer, Blog and Post. So when you create the all of the content in the NP desktop you are creating articles. NP lives inside the Joomla articles.

Hope that helps...

comesifasrls2,

If the issue continues, please create a new private topic with access to the admin panel and a Nicepage project for Joomla.

With the reply of rpoy I understand how to do it.
Perhaps I am still linked to the idea of a theme editor... Nice is more near to a page editor...
