Hi,
Please let me clarify a bit. You had the HTML site created with Nicepage and now you need to edit the site and upload the new version? In this case please simply export the site and load the folder on your hosting instead of the initial site.
In case you need something different, please explain it in more details.

no sorry
I created a site several years ago with frontpage and saved the pages with htm and not html.
Now I'd like to overwrite old pages with this program but it won't allow me because it only saves in html
Hi,
Unfortunately, Nicepage exports HTML pages only.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Htm and HTML are the same thing. It's just a 3 letter extension for systems that don't recognize 4 letter extensions. Way back in the old days of the internet that was a real issue. Not with modern systems
http://www.differencebetween.net/technology/internet/difference-between-htm-and-html/
You can safely rename ALL your existing .htm pages to .HTML with ZERO consequences.
That will then in turn let you replace them with the nicepage content.
Or just delete all the old files and just upload the new site if you created it entirely nicepage
