Jump to Block Anchor from Menu

However when loaded into Joomla it appears to jump to the right place and displays the error 404 article not found screen.

I am obviously doing something wrong but need a pointer in the right direction

I want to jump to a Block Anchor (section) on a page from a menu choice. It works on the local development copy in Nicepage Desktop using page_name.html#section_anchor and www.mywebsite.com/page_name#section_anchor. However when loaded into Joomla it appears to jump to the right place and displays the error 404 article not found screen. I am obviously doing something wrong but need a pointer in the right direction Rob

Hi Rob,

Joomla uses a little different format of links. Please check the problem menu item under the Joomla Menu Manager. If the page link is
page_name.html#section_anchor
then it is not correct for Joomla. Please use the proper URL to page_name and add an anchor link.

The page link is http://www.westhaze.com/services.html#jump_01 where the page is "services" and the location I want to jump to is block anchor "jump_01"

I don't seem to be able to achieve my desired outcome.

Hi Rob,

The link
http://www.westhaze.com/services.html#jump_01
returns 404 error because of the link
http://www.westhaze.com/services.html
is invalid too.

The proper link to SERVICES page is
http://www.westhaze.com/ct-menu1-item2
Therefore the anchor link should look like
http://www.westhaze.com/ct-menu1-item2#jump_01
