Indeed, it is enough to put this value in CSS:
.pswp__bg {
background: rgba (0,0,0,0.5);
}
and we have a translucent black background in the lightbox.
I do not know why the NICEPAGE team does not want to install the option to change the background color and transparency in NICEPAGE despite frequent questions and requests for this option.

This request is added to our wishlist and also we count voices for it. But actually there are only a few of them and we are also using the third-party code for the lightbox and haven't added any options to modify it. But as said before, this suggestion is added to our wishlist.
