Ask a Question

https://mysite.com/infos#sec-0aeb

According to other questions which were brought up, this should be an url-example in my joomla-np-projekt.
1. Question: Is the real name of wanted page the name which I used in the menue?
2. Question: Is #sec-0aeb the name of the wanted anchor of the section?

I don't get the internal link working.

Hi Meinhard,

I was trying to access the www.chor-fiveseaons.de site but have failed. Please check your site URL.
In any case, if you need to link to the exact section on the other page, then use the full URL with the anchor, like http://yoursite.com/page_name#anchor_name
When adding a link, select the desired page from the list and it will automatically fill the URL option, just add the anchor name after it.

Hi Nicepage,

I have similar issue with links and anchor to main page.
This is our test pages: http://test.kukang.org/

1) when I'm on home page and click "O nás" - second menu link it will move me to anchor. But when I'm on another site, nothing will happend. I think it's because of I haven't name in address. But I just click on Block (current page) {checkbox - 1} and after to block what I want as anchor {2} and in address apears a text {3}. So I think there is a name of page missing where anchor is, but it should be automaticaly. Not?

2) I would like to make HTML link in my text to another page. For example eshop. So you tell I should use http://yoursite.com/page_name but it's not working for me.
When I creating a menu link in address is shown e-shop.html {image 2}
When I make a link like http://test.kukang.org/e-shop because e-shop is a name of page, nothing happend (page does not exist). I try also http://test.kukang.org/e-shop.html
But when I move cursor to e-shop menu I see little long link for this page.
How can I make direct link in html to my another page? (I need to use a href="...)

thank you very much!

missing page name
e-shop.html
e-shop2 - long url

Your advise wasn't helpful at all.
I attached two screenhots. The first while opening the submenue "Internal Link" and the second after selecting the desired page from the list (as you told me).
As you see, there is only nonsense automatically filled into the URL option.

What went wrong?

Hi Frantisek,

  1. You have the anchor only, anchor without the full URL will work only on the page where the section is located. If you need to link to that section from any other page, then use the full URL like
    http://test.kukang.org/domains/test.kukang.org/index.php#sec-5e9c

  2. The YRL is changed when you load the content in Joomla and that is normal, Joomla adds the unique URLs to the pages in order not to duplicate aliases. You can change the alias for each page manually or edit the menu link to use the correct link from the current aliases, like:
    http://test.kukang.org/domains/test.kukang.org/index.php/ct-menu1-item5

Hi Meinhard,

Looks like the page you have referred to is using that URL. You can change the page URL manually using the alias option. You can still try to add the section id after that whole URL.
If that does not help, please create a private topic with the access to the site backend so we could review the issue.
