Multi Layer Background does not work with blog post images

That is correct, block background image will be the same for all post pages, not the different post image as background for each post.

Yes but I think i should be visible in the property panel - because at the moment it shows there is not an image

This behavior is the same for a page. You need to add an image as a background in the property panel or add an image element to the block and extend it as a background.

When you drag the image from another block to extend it as a background - it won't be visible in the property panel.
