Proper procedure for Nicepage editor export to WordPress (including all pages)

I am having issues with the export/import process. I have developed a theme on the Nicepage desktop app on Mac. I have tried exporting as WordPress (all options, also separately just theme or just pages) and as a project. I have tried uploading this file first as a theme, which then tried to import data. This hangs. Then if I go to plugins it shows a banner message about needing to activate a new plugin with the name of my theme. I do that. Then I try to delete the theme and reimport the theme. It seems to work but I don't have any page content that I created on the desktop app.

So, going from desktop app to WordPress, what is the proper top to bottom process for getting this imported into my Wordpress site?

Please let us know if you checked our WordPress documentation. You can find instructions there for a Theme and Pages, Theme alone or Content alone and about the Nicepage Plugin.
