Ask a Question

Hi,

The website CSMAGT.com was originally set up by someone else, and unfortunately, they never provided me with the project file. However, it was moved to the server I now use, and I took over the license. Currently, the client would like to manage updates themselves, but I’ve already used my Nicepage license to build my own website, as I’m allowed to create.

I want to avoid giving them access to my personal website. Is there a way to transfer their website to a new Nicepage license that they can pay for and control directly or have a second user for just that website? While leaving it on the server I use, as the client wants me to continue to have overall control in case they make any errors. Alternatively, is it possible for me to create a project file from the existing website hosted online?

Best regards,
David

David,

No, unfortunately, the site is a folder on the server, and Nicpeage is only a plugin on that site.

While leaving it on the server I use, as the client wants me to continue to have overall control in case they make any errors.

Your client will need a separate Nicepage Premium to edit the site.

Alternatively, is it possible for me to create a project file from the existing website hosted online?

Also, no. You cannot export the project from WordPress or Joomla; the only way to get content is to export and import each page by an individual block.

Hi Alan,
Is there a simple guide for me to use? your on-line instructions assume a level of understanding I don't have. As a dyslexic there is far too much information for me to understand and action.

If the site as you say is a folder on the serve server is it not possible to log into it from a new account? That doesn't therefore have access to my website which is currently having payment structures put on that I wouldn't want them to have access to.

For example, why is a premium account required to edit the site? Is that because it has multiple users?

When you say export by an individual block, what does that mean? A page is a block because a page couldn't contain several blocks?

David

Hello David,

Guide for using Nicepage:

Nicepage can be tricky with all the features and settings. Unfortunately, the instructions they provide online can feel overwhelming, especially if you're new to it. If you'd like, I can help you break down any specific parts that you're struggling with so it feels more manageable. Just let me know what you're working on, and I'll walk you through it.

Logging into the website with a new account:

It’s not possible to log into the site from a new Nicepage account and keep it separate from your personal website. This is because the website is tied to the Nicepage license you used to create it. If the client wants to edit the site themselves, they would need to purchase their own Nicepage Premium license to do so.

Why is a Premium account required?

A Premium account is required to unlock the advanced features in Nicepage that allow for full editing and design capabilities. It’s not about having multiple users—it's about needing a license to access the editor. Without it, they can’t make the changes they want to the website.

What does "export by block" mean?

A "block" in Nicepage is a section of a page. For example, one block could be the header, another block could be a section with text, and another block might be an image gallery. A page is made up of several blocks. When they say "export by block," it means you can only take one section at a time, not the entire page or website all at once. You would have to rebuild the site by exporting and importing blocks one by one.

Let us know if you’d like me to explain anything further or help guide you through any specific steps!

Sincerely,
George.
