Ask a Question

When you build a shopping cart the orders page looks like this: https://nicepage.com/User/Orders?uid=4adc190f-45d8-47fc-9b33-4f6109406c2a. I'm assuming that is the only place to see the order(s) you would get. I will also assume you get an email when there is an order. What if you are building a store for a client?

Adtastic,

Usually, you get a notification about the order on the account email.

Yes but if you are building a store for a client there is no other way for them to see orders than going to nicepage.com? And it appears they have to be logged in or have an account in order to see the orders. So in effect that sort of precludes being able to build ecommerce site for clients.

Yes, well for sure it would be much better to have a generic place for a client to see orders and not have to have a nicepage account.

Use Joomla! (It is free) It is a stable and secure content management system. You can set roles and limit access for users. It also allows you to customize the login and dashboard - this would give you the functions you are looking for - a simple client portal that you can hand over to non-technical website owners.

There is a free extension for Joomla called VirtueMart that NicePage can edit the templates and styling for. So, you create in NicePage and export for Joomla and use the VirtueMart extension for all the eCommerce needs. You can customize the order pages and the product pages from NicePage.

That's what I would do. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the answer. It is something to consider for sure. Although I'd prefer to be able to simply build them in html. Using Joomla is another matter altogether with it's own pluses and minuses.
