Hello,
I recently discovered that doing some optimisation of my Chrome Browser significantly sped up the Online Builder. I followed this article: https://www.computerworld.com/article/1666806/easy-steps-to-make-chrome-faster-and-more-secure.html, and in particular, added the 'uBlock Origin' extension.
Even though I have a 2017 macbook air, running on Catalina, the builder is working fast now.
Just a note: the uBlock Origin extension can make some elements like the modal not display properly, so you might want to turn this off when testing your sites.
