How to publish after Exporting with A2 Hosting?

Ask a Question

I made a website on the desktop version, exported it (I got both HTML and CSS files) and I uploaded all files to the Public HTML folder on A2 that's supposed to automatically post content (there's not a publish or hide option on files).

I uploaded both the Index and Home files (so 1x Home HTML and both the HTML and CSS for the Index (Home doesn't create a CSS for some reason), but I'm not seeing my website!

I cannot stress enough that, according to A2 Hosting's own guide, I'm simply supposed to upload the files to the Public HTML folder to make them go live... so does anyone else use A2 who can help with this?
I did message A2's support but the replies are from a different time zone (during the night for me) and haven't exactly been helpful on this topic.

Hello,

We are sorry, but unfortunately, we do not provide support with third-party hosting.
We can only suggest checking their documentation and we are ready to help with anything according to Nicepage Hosting and with all Nicepage-related questions at any time.

Okay, A2's support is pretty terrible! I get ONE email reply per day and it's not very useful. They tried to tell me that I'd uploaded a Default Index PHP to over-ride the Index file, but I don't have any PHP files! The file even read: Default A2 Index PHP, so I certainly didn't upload it!

Having deleted that, I can now see my website but all images are missing! I put the images I used in the main Public HTML folder (they were in the IMG sub-folder before) but it's still not happening.
As a precaution, I've now uploaded every single file that was in the Export (not the folders because I can't upload folders) and the website still isn't showing any images.

Any ideas?

Okay, I fixed it; here's how to solve the issue should anyone else encounter it:

nicepage exports an images folder, while A2 has an img folder. You'll need to create a new folder in the public html main folder, call it, images and then upload all images used on the website into there.

I use A2 hosting for my websites and use Nicepage extensively. The easiest way to handle A2 Hosting (and possibly ANY cPanel-based web host) is to export your HTML project as a ZIP FILE. That will put all your required Nicepage files and folders into a single file. You can upload that file to the /public_html folder (or any other folder of your choosing if you host multiple domains) using the cpanel File Manager upload file capability or your favourite FTP program.

Once the file is on the hosting site, use cpanel's File Manager to EXTRACT the files from your zip file, and you're ready to go!
