Ask a Question

I have created the site in desktop application, exported, installed and I am using the online editor. I am an Artisteer user from day one (Themler did not work ....), as far as editing content in live site is concerned, works OK. But I need to fix the header and footer and (used to edit HTML bits in index.php in template editor but it is not there). What am I missing?

Hi,

Your footer has the Position controls in it, they do not export the content, they are creating the positions for the modules that you will create in Joomla. But you haven't created the names for those positions. Add names, export the theme and set the desired modules in those positions.

Hi,

You will need to edit the design of the Blog and Pst templates. They can be edited in the desktop application only. Header and Footer are also theme elements and can be as well edited in the desktop only. Please try to check that the Blog template has enough placeholders (posts) in the editor so they will be able to display the content on the site. Also check the Post template as it will be used for all the other pages types on the site that are not created with Nicepage.
This video may be also helpful:

If that does not help, please create a separate ticket with more details about your issue.

I hope this thread is still active.
I've imported my template into Joomla, and, as long as I force the home page to be a single article, then the template displays correctly.
But if I use Joomla as it's designed, the home page is for "Featured Articles" and the template falls apart - actually, it just has the header and the background. But all of the other content is only in the one article.
I've changed the background color for the theme (editing in the live site), but it doesn't seem to effect the template when I refresh. I've even forced refresh and there is still the dark colored background.
I'm guessing this is a huge learning curve. So bear with me.
I'm trying to get the contact page to use the default template. But the default template is...that 1 article.
How can I edit the template for the contact page when the contact page is dynamically generated by Joomla?
The only page that has the actual design - other than the header - is the single article that I "thought" was supposed to be the home page.
Is Nicepage designed to create 1 page at a time?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in responding. Could you please attach your theme exported as a Project, the exported theme which shows the issue when installed on the live site and also several screenshots that will explain how the site should look like and how it actually looks like.

I am having the problem that when I make a change to header attributes in the Nicepage Desktop those attributes are not there after installation in Joomla. For instance, I changed the header to overlap the first section and be transparent. I also removed the color background of the header. The result is a header with a white background. It may or may not be overlapping the first section, but with the white background I can't tell.

Is there a step I'm overlooking or is this a problem in Nicepage?

Hi Judit,

We'll consider your suggestion. For now you can edit the exported theme code, but please note, that we do not support custom modifications.

Sincerely,
Hella

Thanks, I have already done exactly like this - I needed to change the email in the footer, and wanted to delete the reference to created by Nicepage and the logo did not display properly - small freebie for a local not-for-profit http://www.festivalofbraidwood.com but as nobody pays for it, it is a good opportunity to test drive Nicepage.
I am quite used to edit the code otherwise, including tricks to temper with Artisteer templates that I used exclusively to create websites. It would be "Nice" to be able to edit the theme elements in situ by Nicepage rather than needing to go back and do another theme.
Regards
Judit

mail,

Header and Footer are the theme elements. Therefore you can edit them in the original project in Nicepage Desktop and then export project as Theme and reinstall it in Joomla to update the theme.

In general, we do not recommend editing theme code manually as it may cause a lot of problems. Exactly what changes you want to make in header and Footer?

Thank you,
Olivia
