Ask a Question

Hello,

I'm a user of Artisteer for many years and i think Nicepage will be a fine replacement for Artisteer.
But before i buy it, i have a few questions:
- is there some animation included in Nicepage, for example scrollreveal?
- every page you create in Nicepage, is that the same as an article in Joomla
- i can't find any examples of websites which are made by Nicepage. So i can't see what Nicepage is capable of.
Nicepage looks good, but i miss a few important issues. But maybe you can tell me where i can find them.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Olivia,

Thank you so much for the extended explanation.
Because everything is new to me in Nicepage, i will figger out this week how everything works.
Might some questions arise, i'll come back to it.
But for now, thanks a lot!

Frank.

Hi Frank,

Unlike Artisteer, Nicepage allows you to create and further use theme and content separately. You can see two templates: Post and Blog on the Nicepage Desktop dashboard and "Theme" export option. These two templates (Pos and Blog), as well as Header (with Menu) and Footer, are Theme elements.

The Pages that you can create in Nicepage Desktop or with Nicepage plugin for joomla are Content elements (joomla articles). In Joomla you cannot insert module position into the content. Module positions are theme elements.

Nicepage works exactly the same. If you want to display some joomla position on all pages of your website you should add Position&Sidebar control to the Post and Blog Templates. Then export "Theme" or "Theme with Content", install theme and activate it.

For example, open Post Template and enable Sidebar:

enable-sidebar.png

Sidebar creates module position called position-sidebar. Once you export Nicepage project as Joomla theme and install it on your joomla you will be able to use this module position.
If you want more positions simply add a new Section(s) above or below Section with content controls, then insert Grid and then Position&Sidebars controls inside each cell, specify position name for each Position&Siddebar control and export project as "Theme". This will help you to create additional positions similar to Artisteer themes. Please note that if you want to see these positions on all website pages including Blog you should copy or add from scratch positions with the same names on the Blog Template too.

let's consider another situation when you're working with Nicepage Content (you create Pages) only and you're using third-party joomla theme. Nicepage allows adding Position&Sidebars control to the Sections on the created pages (with plugin or in Nicepage Desktop). But as mentioned above, Pages are Content and Content is an article which cannot create module position. What to do in this case? You have some third-party theme installed on your website and activated. This theme includes some module positions. So, when you add Position&Sidebars control into the content you can specify the name of the existing theme position and display modules from this position inside content. It is something like built-in joomla {loadposition} shortcode.

From your previous message, I assume that you added Position&Sidebars control on the created page and imported it as Content. Content does not create module positions. Therefore you cannot see the created position in joomla. But if you install the theme too, you will see your positions. As an alternative, please specify the name of the position existing in the theme used on your website.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Olivia

Hi Hella,

No matter what i try i can't get a moduleposition in Joomla.
In NicePage i do can make a position with a specific name, but when i import the template into Joomla and i'm searching for the module, there no one.
Besides this, a moduleposition does concern the whole website and as you explained it, it should be possible to change the modulepositions on every page. And i think that's not possible within Joomla, or am i thinking wrong?

Frank.

Hi Frank,

In Nicepage you can add a module position in any place you want. Just open the Add button and the Position and Shortcode drop-down. Add as many positions as you want. But do not forget to use different names for the positions.

Sincerely,
Hella

Thank you for the answer.
I've got a last question:
When i use NicePage instead of Artisteer i loose alle the modulepositions.
With Artisteer there were more then 20 modulepositions. With NicePage there are only 1 or 2.
So, how can i solve this problem when i want to use several positions like, sidebar left, right or 3 modules next to eachother?
There are many extensions in Joomla who only work in a moduleposition.
Like to hear from you.

Frank Gijsen.

Hi Frank,

is there some animation included in Nicepage, for example scrollreveal?

Unfortunately, this animation effect is not supported. But we added your request to our wish list.

every page you create in Nicepage, is that the same as an article in Joomla

In general, yes. Each page will be converted into Joomla article if you export content and import it into your Joomla.

i can't find any examples of websites which are made by Nicepage. So i can't see what Nicepage is capable of.

When you create a new website or page Nicepage offers Community Designs - designs created by our designers. These are ready pages which you can test to see what you can make with Nicepage.
Nicepage Desktop Demo allows exporting theme and content for CMS and HTML. You can export one of the Community Designs and see how it looks on your test website.

Nicepage looks good, but i miss a few important issues. But maybe you can tell me where i can find them.

Please let us know exactly which features you are missing and we will help you find them if they are supported.
