Interactive form fields that populate an existing back end site

Ask a Question

I have a website design project for a Freight service provider. The site requires a form with 2 interactive form fields that includes:
a. Enter Consignment No / Tracking No
b. Destination Postcode
I want for the information entered in the fields to immediately populate a separate back-end site, with the same fields, that in turn creates a page with the relevant information for the Freight service provider's customer to view.
Make sure you understand that I don't want to create a button with a link, I want to have interactive form fields.
See an example of the form in this website

Questions:
1. Describe in a step by step workflow how I would achieve this form function.
2. Does Nicepage allow me to do this?
3. Does Nicepage allow me to enter my own custom code?

Hi,

Unfortunately, it is impossible to create such a form on Nicepage as Nicepage cannot connect to databases. We have added this feature to our wishlist.

Does Nicepage allow me to enter my own custom code?

Yes, you can add custom HTML, CSS, and PHP codes on Nicepage. If you need to add a JS code, it can be included in an HTML code with the help of the script tag.

Let us know if you need our further help!

  1. So would I be able to create a form that directly connects to data bases by entering code?
  2. Where can I find help/video to learn how to add custom code via the script tag?
  3. Are there any specialist forms Apps/extensions that can provide a solution and work well with Nicepage?
  4. Let me know of any other work arounds (if possible)

Note: All freight and postal services sites require such forms functionality, I can't believe that after so many years of operation and updates, such functionality is not yet available in Nicepage?

Hi,

1) We only suggest using custom codes or CMS plugins to implement such forms on Nicepage.

2) If you need to add a script that will work on the whole website, you should wrap a script into the script HTML tag and enter a code under Site Settings ==> HTML ==> Additional Head HTML. Here you can read more about the script tag: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_script.asp
If a script is needed only on one page, add a code under Page Settings ==> HTML ==> Additional Head HTML.

3) Unfortunately, we cannot recommend something specific as we have not tested such software with Nicepage. Maybe our users can give you some recommendations.

We agree that this functionality is very useful for postal services and e-commerce. We will add it to our wishlist. So far, we can only suggest using custom codes and third-party CMS (WordPress and Joomla) plugins.

Let us know if you need our further help!
