Ask a Question

Hi there - I'm wondering if you can tell me if the WinPC desktop version is better than the online builder. I use the windows version now, but am thinking to switch to the web version so I can edit files from multiple locations. If I switch to the web, will I lose any functionality? Thanks for the great service.

Hello Bobby,

Switching from the Nicepage WinPC desktop version to the online builder has its pros and cons:

Pros of Switching to the Online Builder:

Accessibility: You can edit your projects from any location with internet access, making it convenient for working from multiple locations.
No Installation Required: You don't need to install any software, which is beneficial if you're using different or shared devices.
Automatic Updates: The online version is always up-to-date, so you don't have to worry about manual updates.

Cons of Switching to the Online Builder:

Internet Dependency: You'll need a stable internet connection to work, which might be a limitation if you're in an area with poor connectivity.
Performance: The desktop version may perform better in terms of speed and responsiveness, especially for large projects.
Limited Features: While the online builder is powerful, some advanced features available in the desktop version might be limited or unavailable online. It's important to check if the specific features you rely on are supported in the web version.

It's a good idea to try the online builder with a test project to see if it meets your needs before fully switching.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Sincerely,
George.

Thanks for the response - what I'm asking is - what are the limited features? Do you have a comparison of web vs desktop published somewhere? It would be nice to not have to guess and check...

Also, if you get the license, you have to use the desktop version with the final included version with your year of updates.
You can't use the online version since it will update past your included versions with the license, and revert back to the free Starter edition.
