Ask a Question

I can't seem to link to my blog template that I created in the desktop application program. It looks like it's trying to link to a "Blog-Template.html" page but when I type that page title in with my domain url, I get a 404 error. Is it possible it's not exporting with the theme I created?

Hi,

Please make sure you include blog posts in the export options. Please see the attached screenshot:

Did you check this box when you exported a site?

Thank you for your reply Paul. I just did what you instructed me to do and it did not change the issue that I'm having. I'm using WordPress also, not "Nicepage" when I export.

All of these screenshots were after I followed your instructions trying to get the template to work. More screenshots coming in next reply.

Hi,

Thanks for the provided screenshots!

On WordPress websites, the Blog Template is used on the default WP homepage (Your latest posts). As you are using WordPress, we recommend using our Blog Posts Element that can be added to a Nicepage page. Here you can read about it: https://nicepage.com/doc/82441/show-posts-on-wordpress-pages

You can edit and create Nicepage pages directly in the WP admin panel using the Nicepage plugin.

So, really stupid question then, why have a blog template in the Nicepage desktop version? I could have saved my self a LOT of time if I knew creating that blog template in the desktop version wasn't going to work online in my wordpress installation. :(

Hi,

The fact is that the Blog Template on WP sites is displayed only on definite WP pages. The Blog Template is part of a theme and is always included in the WordPress theme export.

Let us know if you need our further help!
