As Hella mentioned, there are a number of plugins that can handle the interaction. You can use your platforms custom fields to create and interface also but why reinvent the wheel. Admittedly some plugins may require purchase. I'd suggest using a couple vendors free versions first before settling on one and upgrade to the pro-version to gain the extra features.
Personally I shy away from plugins that want payment upfront because you might get a plugin that is powerful, but awkward to use and the learning curve high to grasp it all.
