Ask a Question

Hello, I am new to this basically very satisfied to play with but there is a few points I feel struggle to style the post template page. I can read and edit html and css with very little php skills.

Here is my client site: https://www.asucojapan.co.jp

current blog post looks like this : https://www.asucojapan.co.jp/topics/%e7%be%8e%e5%ae%b9%e6%88%90%e5%88%86%e3%81%ae%e5%b0%8e%e5%85%a5%e3%81%ab%e7%89%b9%e5%8c%96%e3%81%97%e3%81%9f%e5%b0%82%e7%94%a8%e7%be%8e%e9%a1%94%e5%99%a8%e3%81%8c%e8%aa%95%e7%94%9f/?category_name=topics&lang=ja

My dev-spec are:
Macbook pro (intel), macOS Ventura 13.1
app version nicepage v6.7.6
wordpress version: 6.4.4
browser : chrome

here is my issue:
I am trying to add “recent post” and “pager” block to my post template, so first I added “blog posts” form the block selection, but the result was that it picked all the same post which is same to the post itself. I could not find any category selection corresponded to that block.
Next I tried to add WP “recent post widget”, it workd to load the recent post! but had no luck to modify the style just like I can with the nicepage…

Please give me some advice how to elaborate to build a template page just like you could do to the regular pages?

Hello,

The Post Page Template is a template for an individual post. The Blog Posts element is an element for the Blog Template. This element will show the same post on the Post Template. Please note that this is not a post page, but a TEMPLATE for the WordPress theme. Templates are elements of the design. They are applied to the WordPress pages of the specific type - single post, category, etc. Therefore, there is no option to select a WordPress category on the template in the desktop application not connected to your WordPress.

Next I tried to add WP “recent post widget”, it workd to load the recent post! but had no luck to modify the style just like I can with the nicepage…

These elements display the built-in WordPress widgets. It's like a placeholder. You cannot control a design or content inside these widgets.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Olivia

Thank you very much for your quick answer, it helped me understand more about your apps!
I know the Blog template relates to the WP blog appearance, but I needed to create in different pattern on demand for the post page for my client. Will dig for more me.
