Editing theme online

I've been away from Nicepage for a couple of years. I left because there was no way to manage a project entirely in WordPress. You had to go through this awkward process of creating the theme in the desktop app, then uploading to WordPress. If you needed to make any changes to the theme, you'd have to perform those changes in the desktop app and upload a new version of the theme to WordPress.

Is this still the case, or have you improved the app so that themes can now be created and edited in WordPress? I've seen some blog posts that mentioned syncing between desktop and online, but I'm unclear about what this means. Nowadays, virtually every other page builder allows you to create and edit themes online, so I don't understand why Nicepage has been so far behind the curve on this.

Hello Bradley,

Thanks for reaching out to us

We understand your concerns, and we appreciate you reaching out about this. While Nicepage has made updates and improvements over the past few years, the workflow for managing projects entirely within WordPress remains similar to what you described.

Nicepage still requires you to create and edit themes using the desktop or online app and then upload them to WordPress. While there have been some improvements, such as syncing between the desktop app and online app versions, the theme creation and editing process remains largely the same.

Unfortunately, unlike some other page builders, Nicepage does not allow users to create and edit themes entirely within WordPress. However, we recommend watching future updates and announcements from Nicepage as we always introduce new features and improvements.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or need assistance.

Sincerely,
Ahmad.

Maybe the problem is in how you're marketing Nicepage and the documentation?

In the WordPress plugin, we have a Theme Settings page where we can define typography, colors, header/footer, etc... These are the main elements of what goes into a theme. In the desktop version, we have the ability to create a theme, but since the plugin seems to duplicate this functionality, I'm wondering if a theme is even needed?

For example, Elementor supports full-page editing on top of any theme. They also provide their "Hello" theme, which is basically a blank theme to build on top of. Similarly, Breakdance provides their "Zero" theme and even offers the option to completely disable the theme and design the site entirely in the plugin. The idea of modern page builders is to do full-site editing, making the theme redundant.

Perhaps you should take the same approach with Nicepage. It would be a lot less confusing for users if we weren't encouraged to create a theme in the desktop version and then upload it to the website. Instead, provide a blank theme called "Nice" and encourage users to do all customizations within the plugin. This would eliminate the awkward and confusing process of constantly having to synchronize the theme, created on the desktop, with the WordPress site.

Am I missing something?
