Duplicate page from one site to another causes existing site Theme to be overridden!

Report a bug

I have an existing site # 1 (with 4 pages) and Theme A (Red/White/Blue)

If I am editing site # 2 (with 4 pages) and Theme B (Green/Yellow) and I use the duplicate page feature and select Site #1 as the target site, the theme from site #2 completely overrides the theme of site #1.

This created a significant issue as I can't figure out how to get the previous theme and all the colors - and it appears anything with individual colors like buttons was changed.

I created another new site from a nicepage Web Design and copied the home page to another site and was able to recreate the problem.

A page copied from one site to another should do one of two things:
1. Only keep it's existing colors
2. Use the theme of the site being copied to. (Not the opposite)

Is there a way to import/export/backup a theme as this now causes some concern going forward.

Thanks for you help.

Hello Matt,

We created site 1 and site 4, on site 1 We created a button theme red on hover, red on click, red on default, and the other ways, on site 4 We set a button theme, blue on default, blue on click, blue on hover.

Then We exported the home page from site 4, blue buttons, but after importing on site 1, the theme of the button was still red, as was initially.

If we understand incorrectly please provide a video. If these steps are different on your NicePage editor please provide a video.

George.

Note, I don't think you read my steps to reproduce. I used the "Duplicate Page" feature. I never used the words import or export when describing the bug. (I wasn't aware of the import/export page feature until seeing your reply)

Literally, the entire theme - all colors is replaced when using Duplicate page!

Not sure how to best provide a video, but I think you can easily duplicate this.

Thanks!

Hello Matt,

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I tried the duplicate page feature and you are right, Unfortunately, it has an issue, Duplicate Page works like that it duplicates themes also fonts, shrifts, colors, etc.

We can see the issue. We will forward the case to our Developers Team, we will contact you as soon as we will get an answer from them. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

But for now, you can export and import a block. You can try this while we have an answer from them.
