Ask a Question

Hi,

I am building a website with a friend, and both of us have Nicepage Desktop and access to the shared folder where the site's project files are stored. We can both have the project open on our separate computers and save updates/changes to the shared folder, but I can't find a way to pull in the updates made by one person into the other's app, even after restarting / reloading the Nicepage app (note we intentionally don't work on the same pages at the same time and aren't expecting the app to have real-time updates, but it seems like we should still be able to reload the app and have what's actually saved to the project folder show up in the app). How can I force Nicepage to re-load pages and content into the app so that they reflect what's currently saved to the project folder?

Hey Sydney,

As Nicepage doesn't have a native "easy" option to do this you will have to be creative.

What you could do is you export the project to the shared folder. Whenever your friend needs to make a change they would import the project, make changes, then export it back to the shared folder.

If you only do this once in a while then it won't be a big deal. If you routinely make edits, it could become a pain.

Let me know how it works out.

Alex

Unfortunately, only Nicepage saves its files in a strange way. It is not even possible to give a name to the directory in which the project is saved, it is automatically called a random name without the possibility of changing it.
This always annoyed me. Also this exporting and importing of the project is annoying. I also create websites in other programs and they do not have this cumbersome function.
(e.g. WYSWYG Web Builder, Sparkle, Adobe Muse).
Isn't there a way to simplify the way of saving and opening a project? and so that you can choose and name the directory in which the project with accompanying files will be saved?
