To change a template for a page, go to Appearance ==> Customize ==> Templates in your admin panel, select the needed templates, and save the changes.

там шаблоны идут для блога, для записи блога, для 404 и для авторизации.

А я сделал пользовательский шаблон и хотел его привязать к пользовательскому типу записи и таксономии
тоесть в админке добавил дополнительную запись "Проекты" и хотел к ней подвязать созданный мной шаблон
