Subir proyecto de forma correcta para que los cambios se realicen de forma sencilla

Buenos días.
Me podéis detallar las instrucciones paso a paso para subir un proyecto en Joomla y que sustituya completamente al que ahora mismo esta publicado.
Hago algo mal ya que los cambios no suceden, no me aparecen los menús nuevos, cuando los busco tienen los nombre de índice con sufijos añadidos.
Quiero hacerlo sencillo, la idea es diseñarlo en el ordenador, subirlo al hosting de Joomla y refrescar el navegador, y que ya se vea como lo tenía en mi ordenador, pero no lo consigo, empiezo a dar vueltas y a cambiar cosas, pero siempre veo elementos repetidos mas de una vez.

Hi José,

Please export the theme with the content included, then import the theme in Joomla, when importing content choose the Replace content option. After the whole import please check that there is the correct menu imported in the Menus area in Joomla. The you need also to check that in the Modules area the menu module is using the exact menu source that you have just imported. We have a lot of tutorials here, please have a look:

The old articles will also remain on the site as we cannot erase the content from your database for security reasons.

If you have any exact issues, provide some screenshots and probably your project and access to the site backend.
