Some clarification questions.

Can you confirm that the windows editor and online editor can both export as HTML?

Is the online editor you refer to on your site? (I assume yes).

My initial question actually related to editing an exported website.

Can I install an editor (it necessarily not a full featured editor) to edit the site on my URL / site?

Assuming I add some php to my html site so that I can render some text from a text file on my site, can I download this site and still edit on my windows editor.

For clarity my php will simply be inline inserts within the site titles, body or image alt text, so should not affect the structure of the site.

Yes, you can use both Nicepage platforms to export your project to HTML.
You can edit your exported to HTML site with your editor like Notepad++. We have no further support for any code modification of the exported files, so it is up to you.
After you export your project to HTML you cannot import it back to any of Nicepage applications. You can import only previously exported projects.
