Ask a Question

I have exported a template to Wordpress and started making and editing pages to build a website.
On one of my pages I would like to add a part where visitors can comment at the bottom of the page. Is it possible to add this now when I already have the page imported into Wordpress?

I have a page with a table filled with information and I would like them to be able to write comments below this.

Hi Staffan,

For now comments are not available for the pages created with Nicepage. If you need comments to appear on the page you can try to add them using the custom code. Open the page for editing in the editor and add the PHP control in the place where you want comments to appear. Insert this code in the PHP control:

<?php comments_template(); ?>

Then also check that the comments are enabled for that page in the page settings in WP under the Discussion block.

the steps above should be done for each page where you want comments to appear.

Thank you for your help. Tried this, but I only get a blank block. Nothing is shown.
I added the php part and also ticked the Discussion box on that page. But only a blank part I shown when I preview that page.

Hi Staffan,

Do you have any comments left for that page? I have tried it on my end and all is working fine. You can try to add the test comment under the page settings to see if it appears on the page.

I found another tick box for discussion at the bottom. I only ticked the one at the top. So now it's working.
Thank you.

The comment form field is in the same color as the background, so it's hard to understand where to write the comments. Is there a way to change the input field for the users to white (or a different color than the background)?

Hi Staffan,

Unfortunately we do not have styling options for the comment input box. So it can be changed with the custom CSS code only.

The concept of having software like Nicepage is so that non-PHP/CSS coders can achieve professional results without having to know how to code. I am upgrading a BLOG with lots of COMMENTS!!! I am not willing to have to hack my way through CSS code. Every other template I've used over the years has at least the same page background so why can't this be done? When I look over the mechanics of it such as described at this site, https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-style-your-wordpress-comments-layout/, it is more than what I am willing much less have the time for. Seems to me you know this is an issue yet you've done nothing to compensate for it even it if was a video showing how to add the CSS to at least give it a background you the comments can be read. I have spent a lot of time learning this software and redesigning my site to the point that I'm working on the last little bits, one of which was how to put a background on the comments section. If this is your only solution, then because my site is a blog and comments are what drive blogs, I will be forced to uninstall this software, take the financial loss, and hunt down one that can format the comments even it if costs twice as much plain and simply because BLOGS NEED COMMENTS!!!!

Staffan,

Unfortunately, we do not yet support the styling of comments in cms. We support only elements supported in the desktop application. We have added your comment to our wish list.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Hey there, has this issue been resolved yet? Is there a possibility to add a comments section?
