Ask a Question

I want to upload/activate a website at a third party hosting server using HTML
The site I want to upload/publish is called "2" and uses sites 2 sftp username.
When doing so site 1 (earlier uploaded/published) gets the same sftp username as site 2. And because of that when typing site 1's web address I arrive at site 2.
First I thought i made a mistake and so i tried to correct site 1 sftp username. Bu that resulted in SIte 2 changing its usenrname to the username of site 1 and when typing Site 2 web address arriving at site 1.

What to do?
Thank you for getting back to me

Hello William,

It seems like there might be some confusion or misconfiguration regarding the setup of your websites on the hosting server, particularly with the SFTP usernames and domains.
If you're unsure about the configuration or encounter difficulties while making changes, reach out to your hosting provider's support team. They can assist you in ensuring that each website has its unique settings and that there are no conflicts between them.

Dear Ana, thank you for your quick reply.
I have been in contact with my hosting support team and they have suggested the various sftp names. For one moment that seemed to work. But when I uploaded a new version of site 1 site 2 became also site 1. So I checked again and did see that the Nicepage program changed the sftp name in the other sites, even when I was offline (offline the reason I bought Nicepage).

So do you have another suggestion to solve this?

BTW, Happy 2024.

Hello William,

Please provide an exact example of such Nicepage behavior and how changes made in one project are affecting other projects' SFTP usernames.
A screen capture video of your actions would be very helpful.

Happy New Year and best wishes.

Dear Anna,

Herewith a picture of the publish status of klim.tv. You can see here the remote directory "klimman" for klim.tv at the server provider.
The next picture is the publish page of wcyoga.org. I have changed the remote directory to "wcyoga.org" at the server provider.
The third picture is the status of the kllim.tv publish status without doing anything, but going back to the draft website. As you can see here the publish status has changed and the remote directory is stil klimman but the server has changed to wcyoga.org.

So seemingly anthing you publish is copied in all the publish and export files of the various sites. This is something not very handy and should be pointed out to the user. Or please instruct me what I do wrong.

Best WL

Hello William,

We didn't reproduce the described behavior from our side.
Screenshot 1230 was made after you opened the tab once again, or when exactly? What will happen when you close the tab and open it again and choose the 1 and 2 servers from the list?

Sincerely,
Anna.
