Previously, the desktop app asked whether you wanted to update to the new nicepage version. This is not the case with NP 6.
Is there a special reason for this and can I just install version 6.x over it? Or better wait?

The update process for Nicepage 6.x versions may vary. While the previous desktop app might have prompted you to update, the current version might have a different approach.
Feel free to download the latest Nicepage version and install it manually over your previous version.

Before updating, it's always a good practice to back up your existing projects to ensure that no data is lost during the update process.
