Alexander,
The page you see in the browser and in the Nicepage editor consists of layers: Box lying on top of the Block which is lying on top of the Nicepage page. When each element has a transparent background you see the browser window which has a white background by default. You cannot see nothing. If you want to see some image or color behind the Block (Page background) you should add this background under the Page tab on the right-side panel.
