Hello,

Where do you host your website?

Please be informed that removing the html extension is applicable to the websites published on the Nicepage hosting.

Provide some additional information along with screenshots for further clarification.

Hi,

To remove the ".html" extension from the links on your website, you typically need to configure your web server to serve files without the extension. Here's a general guide on how to do this:

  1. Access Server Configuration. Log in to your web hosting account or access your server via FTP or SSH, depending on your hosting setup.

  2. Locate Configuration Files. Navigate to your website files' directory. Look for configuration files such as ".htaccess" if you're using Apache web server or "web.config" if you're using IIS (Internet Information Services).

  3. Edit Configuration File. Open the appropriate configuration file using a text editor. If you're using Apache, you'll typically edit the ".htaccess" file.

  4. Configure URL Rewriting. Add rules to the configuration file to rewrite URLs without the ".html" extension to the corresponding HTML files. This can be done using rewrite rules in Apache's ".htaccess" file

For Apache (in the ".htaccess" file):

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}\.html -f
RewriteRule ^([^\.]+)$ $1.html [NC,L]
  1. Save Changes After adding the appropriate rewrite rules, save the changes to the configuration file.

  2. Test your website to ensure URLs without the ".html" extension are now accessible and functioning properly. Make sure that all internal links are updated accordingly.

  3. Clear your browser cache and refresh your website to see the changes reflected.

By following these steps and configuring URL rewriting on your web server, you should be able to remove the ".html" extension from the links on your website. If you encounter any difficulties or errors, consult your web hosting provider or server documentation for further assistance.

Sincerely,
Ahmad.
