The software is constantly changing to add features and fix bugs. If at the end of my year the Windows version is 5.25, for example, will I no longer be able to download 6.0 or higher?
Curiously, whoever has the free version can have the latest version.

I wish the personal version had full customization in exchange for removing the hosting, I already have mine.

What don't you understand.
If you buy a license with 1 year of updates, that is exactly what it means.
If you want to extend for the next year, it's 40% off.
If you don't want to extend it, you can use that last version before the updates expire indefinitely.
Yes, the free version can continue updating, but they are limited to 1 site with up to 5 pages, and there are footer ads.

The online/hosting and desktop versions were combined a few years ago with no increase in fees, so you aren't paying for their hosting.
