Product Details Template - BUY NOW button not working?

Ask a Question

Hi, I have setup my site to show the product category with a "view" button to then show the product details with a nice "Buy Now" PayPal button that was on the template. However i cannot get this buy now button to function.

In the template it just shows an example product, but shows that stripe is connected. However when i click on the buy now button it does bring up the modal payment popup with the correct item, but says that i need to setup the payment options and price, which are fine as i have setup just a "buy now" button on other pages for the same item and the payment popup works fine.

I would just rather use the product list templates if possible.

So basically, the buy now button doesn't appear to be working on the product details template. Please help!

Thank you,
David.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for contacting us.

You can change buttons, for example, instead of buy now, use the view button, and link to the product details template.
In the product details template add a button that will be buy now, which will show us the payment popup.

Please let us know the result.

George.

Hi yes I’m aware, it’s just that the buttons aren’t working correctly. They are not gathering the product info if you use the product details template.

Hi Dave,

We asked our developers to investigate this issue. It should be fixed in the future Nicepage updates.

Hi, the payment pop up is also showing the incorrect description but the correct product. I’ll have to switch to usin elementor for this project and use woo commerce. Really disappointing as nicepage has a much better interface, but I need it to work 😔

Hello,

We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please note that you can use Nicepage templates and elements with Woocommerce too. In this case, the Add to cart button on the product details page will add the product to the Woocommerce shopping cart.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

I really like nicepage because I can do everything in the app and don’t have to mess about with Wordpress too much. If I’m using woocommerce I might as well build with elementor and keep everything in one place.

Looking forward to all the bug fixes and getting back to nicepage.

I second all of this. I've just spent the last four hours trying to get the shop functions to work as they should. (I'm using NicePage's own shopping cart, not WooCommerce or Joomla.)

The Product List and Product Detail pages keep forgetting my PayPal and Stripe information (which, thankfully, is restored once I click on the caret next to either of them). The "Add to Cart" button and shopping cart icon do nothing, ever, and the "Buy Now" button sometimes brings up the modal, which sometimes has the right product information but more often says "Womens Shoes".

"The product needs to be set or correctly configured", "Please set up the Product for the Payment Button Element" -- but where, how? Sometimes the product details are picked up, sometimes not.

On the Product Listing page, there's an option to have buttons "Go to Product Page"/"Add Product to Cart"/"Buy Product", but on the Product Detail page, there are no special options for buttons except the usual links, including an option to open the payment modal, which doesn't seem to work as a "Buy Product" function. It's all very confusing.

(I already sent in my project file and videos of these things happening, but have had no response.)

I love everything else about NicePage. It's brilliant, and there's no other visual editor this good for Windows. But I kinda wish it didn't have this product part, because I keep trying to make it work, but having these broken product pages means I can't update my site.

Sorry to vent, but I'm hoping this feature will be getting a big fix soon.

Hi Hamish,

If you faced any problems with the Nicepage eCommerce feature, please create a new private topic with a detailed issue description, provide the Nicepage website folder which is located in the Documents/Nicepage directory and a few screenshots that demonstrate the issue.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Nah, I've already done all that and got no reply. There are so many issues, and it takes a long time to capture and demonstrate them all; I don't have any more time to spend on this.

I've tried working with the current setup every which way, and at best all I can get are single-item "Buy Now" buttons, so in the meantime I'm just going to do that with Stripe embeddable buttons on regular pages and wait for an update to the products feature.

Thanks anyway.

EDIT: This worked well for me. It's not ideal, making people buy one item at a time, but it was such a pleasure to just be working with NicePage's beautiful page layout options and not fighting with the sometimes-automated, often-switcherooing Product stuff.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can follow these steps:

Check PayPal Integration:
Make sure your PayPal integration is correctly set up for the product details template. Ensure that you have linked your PayPal account and configured the price and payment options for this specific template.

Template Configuration:
Review the configuration settings for the product details template. Confirm that you have correctly set the price and payment options within the template editor. Check if any JavaScript or custom code is interfering with the functionality of the "Buy Now" button.

Button Link:
Verify that the "Buy Now" button is linked to the correct PayPal payment URL. If you have manually created this button, ensure that it is pointing to the correct PayPal payment link for the specific product.

Template Testing:
Test the product details template with a simple, known product with basic settings to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the template or the product configuration.

Check for Errors:
Inspect the browser console for any JavaScript errors or warnings when clicking the "Buy Now" button. This can provide insights into what might be causing the issue.

Cache and Cookies:
Sometimes, cached data or cookies can interfere with the functionality of buttons. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again.

Theme or Plugin Conflicts:
If you're using a content management system (e.g., WordPress), check for theme or plugin conflicts. Disable other plugins one by one and switch to a default theme temporarily to see if the issue is related to conflicting components.

Contact Support:
If you've gone through these steps and the issue persists, it's a good idea to reach out to the support team of the platform or template you're using. They can provide specific guidance and assistance based on the system you are using.

Remember to make backups or take precautions before making significant changes to your website, and consider seeking assistance from a web developer if you're not comfortable troubleshooting these issues on your own.> Hi, I have setup my site to show the product category with a "view" button to then show the product details with a nice "Buy Now" PayPal button that was on the template.

Thank you,
David.
