Ask a Question

Hi,
I have been using Nicepage for a couple of years now and it sure is a nice tool to create webpages.
But one thing that I still haven't figured out is the different screens that you can edit individually to fit that specific screen without changing the other screens layots.
For example, ever time I make a new page I always start with the desktop version and make it ready with grids etc, then I check the other screens (laptop, tablet, horizontal mobile and portrait mobile) and almost every time I need to change them quite a lot.
Desktop and laptop follow each other pretty well, but then comes the tablet who almost always mean trouble = a lot of work making a good looking layout. And then of course you need to change the two mobile views.
Sometimes it's a lot of fiddling between them in order to get it right.
This mean a very time consuming workflow which annoys me a lot at times.
It feels like gambling and I'm alwqys nervous that a cool layout shall be destroyed oncr I start edit the tablet and mobile views.
What is the reset link meaning that you often but npot always can see under the tablet and mobile views?
Is there a good explanation to how all these works and interfere with each other so I can start work more safely?

Best regards
MIcke

Hello Micke,

Thanks for using Nicepage!

Nicepage has a feature called Responsive Modes that allows you to create different layouts for different screen sizes. This can help you create a website that looks good on all devices.
https://nicepage.com/doc/1125/responsive-modes

When you create a new page in Nicepage, you will be presented with the Desktop view. This is the default view and it is designed to be used on large screens, such as desktop computers and laptops.

You can also view the Tablet, Horizontal Mobile, and Portrait Mobile views. These views are designed for smaller screens, such as tablets and smartphones.

When you make changes to the layout of a page in one view, the changes will be reflected in the other views. However, you can also override the changes in the other views.

For example, if you make a change to the layout of the Desktop view, the changes will also be made to the Tablet view. However, you can open the Tablet view and make changes to the layout that are specific to tablets.

The Reset Link allows you to reset the layout of a view to the default settings. This can be useful if you have made changes to the layout and you want to start over.

Sincerely,
George.

Hello George,

Ok I know that it has responsivve modes. The issue is that it feels like after I have done changes of the desktop view then I go right towards the other screens and change in respective screen. But often it feels like if I do changes to the mobile landscape and prortrait that also the tablet layout is changed once again even though I have set that already so I am satisfied. This has caused me many hours of frustration.
What does the reset button really do?

Hello Micke,

It sounds like you are having problems with the Responsive Modes feature in Nicepage.
We would be grateful if you could provide us with a short video of the problem.

To use the Reset Link, simply click on the link in the view that you want to reset. The layout of the view will be reset to the default settings.
The Reset Link will only reset the layout of the view. It will not reset the content of the view.
The Reset Link will not affect the other views of the website.

...................................................
Sincerely,
George.

Hello,
I have the issues almost every time when I make a new layout/design of a page.
I know that I should use grids and not extend the boundaries of the grid in order to stay safe in all views, byut that doesn't work all times so I have to fiddle around a lot between the different views in order to be satisfied.
For example I have done a layout that look good in desktop view, then move to laptop view and often there is no need to change anything there, but then in tablet (third view) the issue use to come and I neee to set upp widths of images and boxes in order to get it satisfying, then landscape mobile and potrait mobile also need some changes.
I have tried to press the reset link many times but it feels like when pressing that in one of the mobile views also the tablet use to take affect from it and I need to change that all over again. Sometimes it's a real pain to having to fiddle around between these different views and find out that they are changed as soon as I have changed the other view.
But if the reset should work as it is supposed to then after pressing it the changes should only appear in that view? Am I ringht?
I am unsure but if I only get the idea behind it I guess it would help a lot in the workflow process of each new page of the site.

Hello Micke,

You are correct, the Reset Link should only affect the view that you click it in.
If you face any problem in the future, please provide us with a short video of the problem and our team will be ready to help you better.
