Integration with headless open source e-commerce

I recently saw (and commented on) another person's post regarding implementation of the CART feature in an HTML website. I mentioned this could be possible with integration to an existing "back-end" cart system with an available API.

In the intervening few minutes since posting that message, I've started to research free, self-hosted, open-source, headless ecommerce solutions. While still in the early stages of research, I came across an article here: https://medevel.com/17-os-headless-ecommerce-solutions/ that talks about some existing open-source headless e-commerce solutions.

I was wondering whether Nicepage could research some of these and perhaps choose one to standardize on (providing an API link through Nicepage) or even to fork one of these products and bring it in-house to act as a base for your own e-commerce back end?

Hello Jack,

Thank you for your contribution, we saw your comments about CART feature in an HTML website.
Improvement of the e-commerce functionality is still in process and we cannot say now whether we will implement identical store functionality as for CMS.
We have added a cart feature to our wishlist.

Sincerely,
Anna.

I'm not expecting you to add a cart feature to your product. That's a lot of work, and the responsibility to maintain a SECURE product might make it not worth the risk. However, just has you have now implemented a bridge to Paypal and Stripe, it would make sense to develop a set of modules to take advantage of the API's made available by third-party cart creators. The work effort would be far less, and the actual cart functionality would remain with the entity that has already gone through the expense of designing it.
