Hello,

when exporting to html, the index.html is doubled. As index.html and e.g. startpage.html. Startpage can´t be renamed to Index.
So i always have two files, which is confusing and also not so good for goolge because of duplicate content. I think it would a solution always to name the Startpage as Index to enable export of one (start)-file to index.html. Every server needs/accepts index.html as name for startpage.

Maybe to discuss this with development team as suggestion for improvement this issue Thanks.

Hi, Markus,

The index.html file is generated automatically after exporting from Nicepage to HTML. The index file has the same content as the homepage. Nicepage generates the index file because some hosting providers require it. Unfortunately, it is not possible to disable the generating of the index file. We also removed the possibility of naming pages as index. Anyway, we will add your suggestion to our wishlist.

The index file is also needed for reaching a site in this way: yoursite.com. Without the index file, it is impossible.

Hi Paul,

thank you for your info and explantion of that issue.
I just think about if it would be the solution to name my startpage "index" to have just one startpage.
When trying to do this i get a message like "Reserved Pagename is alreeady in use".
So what to do to have just one startpage which is the index.html? Maybe i have to try another solution. Maybe there is a way to get this solved.

More and more users are using SEO check sites. Unfortunately, the duplicate page is a problem because of the duplicate content on the web that the Seo Check finds. That would be really important to achieve with an index page. What is also not optimal is that each page has its own CSS file. Unfortunately, inserting image attributes is not always possible. I hope that these things will be improved at some point. Otherwise, I think your tool is great.> Hi Markus,
