strange error in desktop version

I'm trying to use controls (blog) but get an error "available in desktop version" and unable to use this - strange thing is, I AM using the desktop version.

Hi Winston,

Please switch to the Blog template first and then add those controls. Use the Theme drop-down menu to switch to the Blog template.
