Ask a Question

Hello, I have newly edited my header and footer through Nicepage Wordpress plugin, but the header and footer in the blog posts stayed the same, also the old header and footer are on the 404 page. I can't edit the pages in the plugin, so how can I fix the footer and header to be as my new versions? I have made many new adjustments through the plugin, so the old exported version in the online builder is different from the one that is up running

This is the good version of the header and footer
This is the bad version of the header and footer

Hello,

Nicepage plugin for CMS does not support theme editing. The blog posts page as well as WP posts, 404 page, etc. use the Header/Footer from the theme. The theme can be edited in the Desktop application only. Therefore, you should edit the Header/Footer in the Desktop app and then reinstall the theme to see the updated theme on the blog posts page.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

What will happen to the pages that are up running on the site? Will the reinstallation affect the design of the existing pages if I will only export the header footer and the template pages (blog post, 404 and etc.)?

Hi Raminta,

No, if you export ad upload the Theme only, that won't harm your site content. In any case we recommend to make a backup of the site each time you do such changes.

Well, the support response seems to be only half true. You absolutely can make changes to the header and footer sections in WordPress when you are editing a page using nicepage. The changes are reflected on all pages, but not the posts. Since the header and footer are usually the same throughout a website, the result of changes to these sections on pages should automatically pass through to every other header and footer display. It's a real burden to have to watch for changes to the header and footer on the pages then go back to the theme and make those changes to the theme and reupload the theme. Am I the only one who thinks that's excessive?
