Nicepage theme in Joomla 4

Hello,

I am new with Nicepage, I have some Artisteer experience but Nicepage is quite different.

I am creating a brand new site on Joomla 4 with NP. I started with installing Joomla extension, doing some theme changng in it, trying to create a simple test page and set it as frontpage. The system did almost what I wanted it to do and showed it on the preview mith the address like https://www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3. Addressing the site homepage directly, like https://www.mysite.com, produced however the same content under default Joomla template, and the plugin did not create a new template. Then I successfullyt created and applied this new template with NP Windows app but I do not see any way to edit it with the plugin (what could be much easier then editing in Windows - exporting - importing). What could you advise?

Hi, Vladimir,

Unfortunately, Nicepage templates can be edited only in the Desktop or Online app with further reinstalling of a template. All changes made in the Nicepage extension affect only Nicepage pages in Joomla.

In case you want to display a page as a homepage, it can be done in the Joomla menu manager. Just select a menu item corresponding to a needed page and set it as a homepage.

Thanks I resolved the home page issue myself. Please record my wish for interoperability of NP app with NP extension.

In your opinion, is it better to continue creation of the site template in the app (slower due to repetitive exports-imports) or to switch to the extension (faster but the extension may lack certain features)?

Another wish is to create a quickstart guide for creation of the new Joomla site with NP. The available tutorials assume, in my opinion, user's good understanding of principles of interaction between NP and Joomla, while those principles are not obvious. Creating my frontpage (without almost any design) took me about four hours, while I hoped for 30-40 minutes. And still I have many questions to solve.

Thank you very much for your suggestions, we have added them to our wishlist.

If you have a Joomla website, you can easily edit all the content right in Joomla. For editing Nicepage pages and adding new ones, the Nicepage extension is used. The Desktop and Online apps can be used for updating a template only. Please note that we recommend updating templates regularly, in order to avoid possible issues.

Please also keep in mind that all changes made in the Nicepage extension affect only Nicepage pages in Joomla.

Please let me return to this discussion where I did not find a clear answer to a question, is it possible to synchronize somehow the Joomla template created in Windows app and theme settings in Joomla extension so the pages created with and without Nicepage extension woud look similarly. Like importing the template in the extension.

Yes, you can switch Nicepage pages to Theme Header and Footer or Theme Template in Joomla. Just click on a page to edit it, and you will see these options.

This ony uses header, footer and sidebars. I would appreciate to clone font sets, color schemes etc as well as defaults for page desingn in the extension.

Hi, Vladimir,

By default, Theme Template should inherit all options from an active theme. Otherwise, you can adjust the plugin theme settings in the same way as you did in the Desktop app for your theme.
