I just want to know if the built-in hosting offers email too - or if email needs to be sourced elsewhere. Without email, it's pretty useless.
For example, I point a domain xyz.com to my site hosted with you. Can I use myname@xyz.com as my email or do I have to use another service for my email.

You can get custom email where you get your domain.
