Ask a Question

Hi, I prepared a customized 404 page in NicePage "Templates - Built-in Templates" zone. It perfectly works in when I upload the site to nicepage.io domain, but it is not working when I export it in HTML and upload it to my server.

Main Site, I willingly wrote a wrong adress so you can see there is no 404 page: https://www.vulcanmetalcompany.com/Cast-Rolls-a-Rings.html

Nicepage sub domain: It perfectly works here: https://vulcanmetal26.nicepage.io/Cast-Rolls-a-Rings.html

How I can fix it?

Thank you in advance for helping me

Hi, Sinan,

Thanks for your interest in Nicepage!

Unfortunately, Nicepage does not include the 404 Not Found Template in the HTML export. We will add it to our wishlist.

Alternatively, you can create a separate 404 page in Nicepage and adjust it for the Not Found function in the server files. You can ask your hosting provider for more details concerning it.

Let us know if you need our further help!

Hi, thanks for your reply. I would be great to have it in next update.

For creating a separate page, and adjusting it, I do not know how to do. Do I have to prepare it in my website project or as another website?
And how do I adjust it for becoming my customized 404 page? I have no hosting provider and I am not experienced in it. I just use godaddy and just upload HTML exporter site from NicePage... Your help is really appreciated.

Hi, Sinan,

You can create a 404 page in your Project, export the Project to HTML, and adjust your server for displaying this 404 page when a page is not found. Usually, it can be done in the following way: find or create the .htaccess file in the server folder, and add this line:

ErrorDocument 404 /404page.html
